Without Fear of Jehovah, Men have no love of the truth.
Thank God for the “bridges” He provides, inviting us to be transformed… to pass out of darkness into light… to destroy the speculations that lure us to destroy ourselves… and to change our destiny from death to eternal life.
Even more, thank God we can be equipped to help our own children, grandchildren and others to be mentored in Truth as we declare to them regularly the truly awe-inspiring works of our Creator.
The essential Key? Love the Truth! Know how to identify deception and delusion!
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
The institutionalized powers that govern our contemporary American culture are deeply embedded. The public education system, the halls of higher learning, the mainstream news and entertainment media, the corporate officers of Big Business, the Hollywood elite… they are almost all secularists! They deliberately wield their agendas to posture themselves in direct opposition to Christian morality and virtue. The decline and departure of many godly men and women from positions of influence poses a threat to freedom and the future of America, causing understandable fear among law-abiding citizens.
This sad reality is an historic call for deep abiding prayer and action, lest we further offend our Sovereign King of all creation.
It could not be any clearer. The only question remaining is:
“Will we respond to His call?”
AwesomeWorks is devoted to call this generation of fathers to “praise God’s works to the next generation… declaring His mighty and awesome acts.” (from Psalm 145)
Note about secularism:
Secularism is a religion established by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1963. Secularism openly minimizes the public and political influence of Christianity. The Court’s secular motive now appears to be a deliberate strategy—one that effectively creates a deep separation of the legal and governmental world from the influence of the positive and genuine religious values of our Godly ancestors. Let’s be honest – it is the equivalent to blasphemy to declare that God commanded obedience to secular Justices when those authorities command iniquity and adherence to falsehood. The problem is that most of us in today’s culture have not been sensitized to the utter abhorrence to the crime of blasphemy. We have been desensitized because we are surrounded daily with a regular diet of blasphemy in our digital age of entertainment.
Secularists are not looking for compromise.
Their ambitions are openly defiant. They vigorously oppose the obvious supernatural creation of man and the divinely created spiritual nature of every child of God.
What a contrast!
The Christian’s clear Biblical foundation is that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge!” Without fear of Jehovah, men have no love of truth. Their God-made inner longing for worship can only be directed to nature and to himself. That’s why they are so passionately delusional in rejecting truths that seem so obvious to a child.
The ridiculous popular toleration of bogus man-made climate change politics and discussions about gender identity are clear signals of mass ‘cognitive dissonance.’ People believe something to be true but outrageously behave in a totally opposite pattern. That’s why God accommodates those who “love NOT the truth.” That’s why HE sends them an overpowering ‘delusion.’
Does that shock anyone? It won’t if they believe the clear Word of God and know anything about the history of God’s dealing with mankind.
The Secularist determines to advance a new form of religion and a new moral order. Their goal is the separation of traditional God-oriented religion from public life. They are ignorant that American liberty was birthed and established within the Christian faith.
Secularism has been allowed to hijack the Biblically-based culture established by America’s Founders. But Secularism is merely the latest attack of a false religion challenging the authority of Jehovah and His Word. Bible scholar Bruce Waltke explains that, by God’s design, Satan’s “final defeat under Messiah’s heel (Gen. 3:14-15) is delayed to effect God’s program of redemption through the promised offspring. In the interim, God leaves Satan to test the fidelity of each succeeding generation of the covenant people (Judges 2:22) and to teach them to ‘fight’ against untruth (Judges 3:2).”**
But Waltke’s last phrase – “to teach them to fight against untruth” – poses a challenge for many pastors and congregations of believers in America. A heresy has crept in to the modern church. It supposes that after we receive God’s unmerited salvation, we can live mostly for our own selfish pleasure and expect God to preserve our many comforts and freedoms without much, if any, effort on our part.
Contrast that with what A.W. Pink, a preacher / theologian from the past century, told us:
“So often we dwell upon what Christ’s ransom has freed us from; so little are we occupied with what His ransom has freed us for.”***
Christian, we were made to war “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
Secularism and Christianity are distinct and opposing religions.
On one hand, Secularism advances the fundamental goodness of human nature. On the other hand, Biblical Christianity shows that human nature is flawed by rebellion to its Creator. The Founders of the freest and most God-blessed nation in history understood that “man is deeply flawed in mind and will, inclined to evil, imperfect in knowledge”**** and that concentrated power threatens freedom. Thus, the Founders established the system of “separation of powers” and “checks and balances.”
The Founder’s model was predicated on the theory that all political power is subject to a Higher Law, and that “the state maintained no jurisdiction over religious matters.”
17th Century author and Pastor William Gurnall offers insight for pastors in today’s secularized culture. He writes, “Sinning times have ever been the saints’ praying times. Yes, this they may and should do, ‘fast and pray.’ There is yet a God in heaven to be sought to, when a people’s deliverance is thrown beyond the help of human policy or power.”
